Abstract

|
The criteria for a mesenchymoma are that it should be composed of at least two mesenchymal elements not ordinarily found together in a tumor.
This report dealt with a case of benign mesenchymoma arising in the left retroperitoneal cavity. Pre-operative diagnosis of this tumor on an X-ray plain abdomen as well as intravenous pyelogram was possible. The plain abdomen and IN .P. showed a child fist sized, smooth, round extra-renal mass with calcified speckles located in the left perinephric area.
The tumor was completely excised, and mesenchymal derivative characteristic of the tumor was described in detail.
